A Nairobi woman has shared a distressing account of how a Bolt ride turned into a terrifying ordeal after she was allegedly robbed and assaulted by the driver.
The passenger had ordered a ride from Hunters in Kasarani to South B, but shortly after pick-up, the driver suggested using an alternative route through the Kenyatta University area, claiming there was heavy traffic on the usual road.
According to the victim, the driver suddenly increased speed and diverted further off course, eventually driving all the way to Ruiru instead of the requested destination.
Near Sayari School in Ruiru, she says the driver pulled out a knife and demanded that she surrender her purse, phone, and smartwatch.
When she hesitated, he allegedly began strangling her, forcing her to comply.
She reported losing an iPhone 13, a smartwatch, and a purse containing Ksh 6,000. She further claims she had Ksh 12,000 in her M-Pesa account and was coerced into giving the PIN at knifepoint.
Despite filing a report with the police, the victim says no action has been taken so far.
She has shared her ordeal online to raise awareness and seek justice.
