Suspected Al-Shabaab militants reportedly attacked a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) camp at Bodhei Junction in Lamu County, firing Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs) and rifle fire during the incident.
According to an OB report, the attack happened on Saturday, September 19, at about 8:00 a.m., when an unknown number of suspected Al-Shabaab militants approached the KDF camp.
The militants reportedly fired two RPGs at the camp, accompanied by rapid rifle fire, in what sparked a brief gun battle with security officers.
The attack lasted approximately two minutes before the militants were repulsed by officers who responded immediately.
Security formations were subsequently deployed to the area to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack, including the identity and movements of the suspected insurgents.
