Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has dismissed allegations linking him to a disputed Ksh 20 billion parcel of land in Nairobi’s Runda area, describing the reports as false and misleading.
In a statement posted on his official X account, Murkomen denied having any interest in the 300-acre property, adding that he is not even aware of its exact location.
He also refuted claims that he was present at the land in the company of police officers and hired individuals allegedly attempting to take control of the property.
Murkomen further clarified that the Interior Cabinet Secretary does not direct day-to-day police operations, emphasizing that his mandate is limited to issuing broad policy guidelines through the Inspector General of Police.
He urged the Inspector General and relevant investigative agencies to expedite inquiries into the matter and ensure that the rights of legitimate landowners are protected.
The land in question, which hosts the popular Paradise Lost recreational centre, is at the center of an ongoing legal dispute valued at approximately Ksh 20 billion.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and Gatundu North MP Elijah Kururia have also been mentioned in court documents as the case continues to unfold.
