Kileleshwa Ward MCA Robert Alai has revealed why former Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla was killed in a plane crash in Elgeyo-Marakwet in April 2024.
Major Ogolla and nine others were killed in the crash shortly after taking off in Elgeyo Marakwet County. The four-star general was buried in a state function presided over by President William Ruto.
Most Kenyans, especially the united opposition leaders, claimed that government operatives killed Ogolla. However, during the burial of the general, President William Ruto vowed to ensure that his government establishes what caused the fatal chopper crash that killed Ogolla. Last year, the government released an official report on the cause of the plane crash and concluded that it was an engine malfunction.
But according to Alai, who is a known National Intelligence Service (NIS) mole, Ogolla was killed because he was planning to overthrow President William Ruto in 2024.
Alai, in a post on X, claimed that Ruto was told by former Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Robert Kibochi that Ogolla was planning to overthrow him in 2024. It was after Kibochi’s message to the head of state that the operatives started an active operation to eliminate him. On April 18, Ogolla, with nine others, perished in a mysterious chopper crash. Only one person survived.
