A woman is being sought by police after she set her former boyfriend’s house on fire at the GSU Embakasi B Campus in Nairobi following a dramatic confrontation in the middle of the night.
The incident reportedly occurred at around 2:00 a.m. when the suspect stormed the General Service Unit officer’s Uni-Hut residence after finding him in the company of two female visitors.
According to reports, the unexpected encounter sparked a heated confrontation between the two.
The GSU officer is said to have escorted the two women out of the camp following the altercation.
However, while he was at the camp’s gate, fellow officers called to inform him that his mabati house had caught fire.
Officers stationed within the camp rushed to the scene and managed to contain the blaze before it spread to neighbouring houses, averting what could have been a major fire incident within the residential area.
No injuries were reported during the incident, although the house sustained damage.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the woman, who is accused of deliberately starting the fire.
