The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) issues a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to individuals, businesses, and organizations for tax purposes.

This number is essential when filing tax returns, opening a bank account, applying for government tenders, or conducting other official transactions.

Many people often misplace their KRA PIN certificate or forget their PIN details. Fortunately, KRA has made it easy to check your KRA PIN online through the iTax portal.

Here is a simple step-by-step guide to help you retrieve or confirm your KRA PIN quickly and efficiently.

To begin, go to the official KRA iTax website at https://itax.kra.go.ke. Make sure you are using a secure internet connection to protect your personal information.

Step 2: Click on “Register” or “Login”

If you already have an account, click on the “Login” button and enter your PIN or ID number along with your password.

If you do not have an account, you will need to register by following the prompts and providing your ID number and email address.

Step 3: Use the “PIN Checker” Option

On the iTax homepage, locate the “PIN Checker” tool. This feature allows you to confirm whether a KRA PIN is valid and registered.

  • Click on “PIN Checker” under the quick links section.
  • Enter the KRA PIN you want to verify.
  • Solve the security captcha and click “Submit.”

The system will display the taxpayer’s details, including their name, tax obligation, and registration status.
