Kenyan student Nelbert Kipruto Rirei, who was found dead in the River Cam in Cambridge, United Kingdom, has been laid to rest at his family home in Nariri Village, Kesses, Uasin Gishu County.
Rirei was buried on Saturday, October 31, in a ceremony attended by family members, friends and relatives who gathered to pay their final respects.
In a message following the burial, one of his friends described the send-off as solemn and dignified, thanking everyone who stood with the family during the difficult period.
“The burial took place in a solemn and dignified manner, surrounded by family, friends and loved ones who came to pay their final respects,” the friend said.
The friend also expressed gratitude to those who supported the family through their presence, messages, prayers and financial contributions, saying their solidarity had provided comfort following the loss.
However, the circumstances surrounding Rirei’s death remain a concern, with the family demanding answers over how he ended up in the River Cam.
