Police have launched investigations into the death of an 18-year-old pregnant woman who died after falling from the fifth floor of a residential building in Kayole, Nairobi.
The deceased, identified as Belaka Wambui Kamau, is reported to have fallen from the building in the Matopeni area under circumstances that remain unclear.
According to her family, Belaka was five months pregnant and was married to Antony Njoroge.
She had been living with her husband in Obama Estate.
Her mother alleged that the couple’s marriage was frequently marred by domestic wrangles and disputes.
The family has rejected claims that Belaka died by suicide, insisting they believe she was pushed from the building.
They are calling on investigators to establish the truth surrounding her death.
Police have since arrested Belaka’s husband to assist with investigations as detectives work to determine what transpired before the fatal incident.
Authorities have not yet released their findings, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death are ongoing.
