Mystery continues to surround the death of 33-year-old KDF officer Antony Munene, who was shot during an exchange of fire with police officers in Kahawa Sukari, along Thika Road.
According to police, Munene was shot during the shootout, and a Jericho pistol loaded with 12 rounds was recovered at the scene.
However, serious questions remain about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Was the firearm actually in Munene’s possession? Who did it belong to, and was it subjected to forensic examination?
Claims that police planted evidence remain unproven, but they have added to calls for an independent investigation into the incident.
An impartial probe is necessary to establish exactly what happened, determine whether the recovered firearm was linked to Munene and ensure that anyone found responsible is held accountable.
