William Sawe has been appointed the new Head of the Presidential Escort Unit in a raft of changes following the security scare witnessed on Sunday during the thanksgiving ceremony of Youth PS Jacob Fikirini.

The changes come after a young man breached President William Ruto’s security during the public event, sparking debate over the effectiveness of the President’s security detail.

The position was previously held by Noah Maiyo, a seasoned officer who has served under previous regimes and received extensive training in VIP protection.

However, Maiyo has recently faced criticism following a series of security breaches during President Ruto’s public engagements.

Reports indicate that he has now been redeployed to Vigilance House as part of the latest security reshuffle.

William Sawe is expected to take over immediately as efforts are made to strengthen the President’s security operations during public functions.

Photos of the newly appointed Presidential Escort Unit commander have since surfaced online as Kenyans react to the changes within the elite security team.

Below are photos of the new Presidential Escort Unit commander.
