A team of law enforcement officers from Migori Police Station has arrested a suspect linked to a series of violent robberies in Migori and its environs, recovering a Taurus revolver from his possession.

Acting on actionable intelligence, the officers mounted a well-coordinated ambush along the Migori-Kawa main road near Migori Stadium in Nyasare Sub-Location.

Their operation paid off after they intercepted a grey Toyota Succeed registration number KDM 289F, which is suspected to have been used as a getaway vehicle in previous robbery incidents.

A search conducted on the vehicle led to the recovery of a Taurus revolver concealed in a compartment near the gear lever.

The firearm was loaded with seven rounds of ammunition and reportedly ready for use.

Officers also recovered two additional rounds of .22mm ammunition hidden inside the driver’s door handle, as well as a dagger.

The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Justine Nyamete Jepter, was immediately arrested and detained at Migori Police Station.

He is currently undergoing processing ahead of his arraignment in court as investigations continue.
