Nyandarua Senator John Methu has alleged that President William Ruto has personally approached him with offers, claiming that money is being used to influence political loyalty.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV , Methu said the Head of State frequently extends financial incentives to leaders in a bid to win their support.
He claimed that he has received such offers multiple times but has remained firm in his political stance.
“One thing that William Ruto dangles is money; he dangles a lot of money. He has so many offers that he keeps giving to many people. He has offered me many times,” Methu stated.
The senator further alleged that similar tactics are being used in the upcoming Ol Kalou by-election, where several DCP candidates are reportedly being enticed with financial support to switch allegiance.
”DCP has like 7 candidates, they are being offered money, they are being told if you come to our side, we will give you money and campaign for you,” he said.
Methu maintained that it takes strong and principled leadership to resist such overtures, insisting that his political stand will not be swayed.
