Residents of Kerugoya Town are reeling in shock after the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered inside a rented house under unclear circumstances.
The incident occurred in the Site and Service area within Kirinyaga Central, where the two victims were found lying in a pool of blood.
The man was identified as Timothy Maina, 30, while the woman, identified only as Veronicah, is believed to have been in her 20s.
According to reports, Maina had sustained a deep wound to the stomach, while Veronicah had severe cuts to the neck and forehead.
Two knives were reportedly recovered at the scene, raising further questions about what may have transpired.
The grim discovery was made after Veronicah failed to report to work at a nearby petrol station.
Concerned colleagues and neighbours went to check on her, only to find both victims dead inside the house.
Police have since launched investigations into the incident, treating it as a murder case.
