Kajiado North Member of Parliament Onesmus Ngogoyo has alleged that police officers linked to the controversial Witima Church attack were merely transferred rather than subjected to disciplinary or legal action.

Speaking during an interview on KTN, Ngogoyo, an ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, claimed that no meaningful steps had been taken against the officers involved in the violent incident, despite public outrage.

“In regard to what happened in Witima, the officers were simply transferred, some to North Eastern and others to Mombasa. No prosecutions or arrests have been made,” Ngogoyo stated.

The Witima Church incident, which drew widespread condemnation, placed security agencies under intense scrutiny, with calls for thorough investigations and justice for the victims.

However, Ngogoyo’s claims suggest that those expectations may not have been met.

The incident occurred on January 25, 2026, during a Sunday service attended by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

According to reports, teargas was lobbed into the church, causing panic, injuries, and disruption to the worship service.

Several vehicles, including those in Gachagua’s entourage, were vandalized, with one vehicle set ablaze.

Gachagua and his team were forced to leave the church using an alternative route.
