Detectives from Kisauni Sub-County have arrested a key suspect in connection with the abduction of two minors and successfully rescued the children, who were reported missing on 27 August 2026.
Investigations have established that Caleb Okumu Ngwena, acting with an accomplice who remains at large, abducted the two minors on 25 August 2026 at Sensera in Kiembeni.
The suspects forced the children to cut off all communication with their families before transferring them to Kiambu County, where they were confined in an empty room.
During their ordeal, the prime suspect is alleged to have subjected one of the minors to grave mistreatment. The children were later released after several days under threats that they would be killed if they ever disclosed what had happened to them.
The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned in court tomorrow, Monday, 7 September 2026, where he is expected to face charges of abduction, child trafficking, and other related offences.
Investigations remain active to establish the full circumstances of the incident, identify the second suspect, and effect his arrest.

Anyone involved in the trafficking, exploitation, or abuse of children, or who facilitates such crimes, will be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice.
