In a surprising turn of events, a young man who stole a phone in Ngara ended up surrendering it to Nairobi County Senior Government Official Geoffrey Mosiria after realizing the device was still on a Lipa Mdogo Mdogo loan.
According to Mosiria, the incident happened around 3:30 a.m. at Fig Tree, Ngara.
The suspected thief had snatched the phone but later discovered it was a loan device, making it virtually useless to him.
Spotting Mosiria talking to workers installing a billboard at night, the thief approached him and requested help returning the phone to its owner, believing Mosiria could also help him turn his life around.
The thief asked to use Mosiria’s car, but due to the late hour and lack of trust, Mosiria declined and suggested they meet at Fig Tree instead.
The young man surrendered the phone and fled back to Fig Tree. The phone was successfully returned to its owner.
Mosiria has since promised to take the young man to rehab and support him if he leaves crime and decides to reform.
