Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sensationally claimed that President William Ruto, using his relatives, has run down Kenyatta University Teaching, Research and Referral Hospital(KUTRRH), which is currently on its deathbed.
KUTRRH is a premier hospital constructed under the leadership of former President Uhuru Kenyatta and was supposed to ease congestion of patients at Kenyatta National Hospital. During Uhuru’s tenure, the hospital was operating with precision, using a highly skilled management team led by Professor Olive Mugenda. But when Ruto got into power in 2022, he appointed a quack manager as Chief Executive Officer(CEO) by the name of Zeinab Gura.
To make sure they loot the hospital, Dr. Michael Cheruiyot Bongei was appointed as Director of Procurement and Head of Supply Chain Management at KUTRRH.
According to Gachagua, Bongei, who is a close relative of President William Ruto, has looted everything, including patients going without food at the second-biggest referral hospital in Kenya. Gachagua further stated that even workers at KUTRRH are complaining of mismanagement of the hospital by Ruto, his relatives and his proxies.
The Democracy For Citizens Party leader spoke on Friday while addressing Kenyans who live in Spokane, Washington.
