Detectives in Kiambu County have launched a manhunt for two suspects who attacked and robbed a couple moments after they were involved in a road accident in Kikuyu Sub-County early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. at the KARLO Forest-Renguti Junction in the Kerwa area, where what began as a traffic accident quickly turned into a violent robbery.
According to investigators from Kikuyu Police Station, the couple was driving home in a Mercedes-Benz when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The car veered off the road and landed in a ditch on a nearby farm.
Police said the two suspects took advantage of the accident, attacked the stranded couple, robbed them of their valuables, and assaulted one of the victims before fleeing the scene.
Detectives have since launched a manhunt to trace and arrest the suspects as investigations into the incident continue.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of motorists travelling during the early morning hours, particularly in isolated areas where criminals prey on vulnerable road users.
