The decomposing body of an unidentified adult woman has been discovered inside a man-made water reservoir behind Orange County Hostels at Daystar University in Athi River, Machakos County.
According to the police report, the body was discovered on Saturday, September 5, 2026, prompting a police operation at the university premises.
Investigators established that the woman’s body had apparently been forced through the rear window of hostel room A031 before being disposed of in the water reservoir.
The room was reportedly associated with a former occupant identified as Natasha, who is said to have vacated the premises about a month ago.
Investigators who processed the scene reportedly found blood stains on the walls of the room.
The rear window panes had also been broken, raising suspicion that the woman may have died before her body was moved to the reservoir.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kitengela documented and processed the scene as investigations commenced.
The unidentified body was later moved to the Machakos Level V Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
The postmortem examination is expected to help establish the cause and circumstances of the woman’s death, while further investigations will also seek to establish her identity and how she ended up at the university premises.
Police are continuing with investigations into the disturbing discovery.
