The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has charged an employee of Falcon Oil Limited with allegedly stealing Ksh 14,890,157 belonging to the company.

The accused, Ismail Ali Ibrahim, appeared before Nairobi Principal Magistrate Paul Mutai, where he denied charges of stealing, conspiracy to defraud, acquisition of proceeds of crime, and use of proceeds of crime.

The prosecution alleges that between December 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026, at an unknown place, Ibrahim stole the money which had come into his possession by virtue of his employment at Falcon Oil Limited.

He was also charged with conspiracy to defraud, with the prosecution alleging that he conspired with others to unlawfully obtain money belonging to Falcon Oil Limited.

Ibrahim further faces charges relating to the acquisition and use of proceeds of crime.

The court heard that on April 25, 2026, the accused allegedly acquired Ksh 300,000 from clients of Falcon Oil Limited who were purchasing petroleum products.

At the time, he is accused of knowing or having reason to believe that the money constituted proceeds of crime obtained through the alleged conspiracy.

The charges followed investigations into the alleged loss of funds belonging to the petroleum company, culminating in the DPP’s decision to charge him.

Ibrahim pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Principal Magistrate Paul Mutai released him on a surety bond of Ksh 3 million or an alternative cash bail of Ksh 800,000, with two contact persons.
