I traveled to Kapchorwa in Uganda last weekend for a funeral. Here is what I found out:
Governor George Natembeya is right. IEBC oprerations extend into Uganda. I witnessed the delivery of the Identity cards by a Kenyan “official”.
Secretly, I took a photo as seen below. I took pictures of voters cards as well but can’t release them coz they are my close relatives.
At a construction site two out of 10 workers complained that their IDs had not been delivered.
“Msijali, zinaletwa Monday an official from Kenya called the coordinator this morning” another responded.
My contact says the exercise covers the entire Kapchorwa and estimates the voters to be around 100,000.
On our way back, my guy stopped to address a group of 15 who were waiting for him.
They wanted a meeting with the Kenyan Senator over a development project which he had started but didn’t complete. “Hapa, mtoto akifikisha tu 18, tunampea ID and voters card.
“How will you cross the border to vote many as you are?” I inquired.
“Sisi ni wasebei bwana tutapita bila wasi wasi” A truly militant people.
On the Bungoma Kenya-Uganda border side, lorries were spotted ferrying people for similar reasons.
I asked my contact to take a photo.
Unfortunately, he was seen doing so. The camera was confiscated.
I did a private citizen’s motion to parliament for the disbandment of Isaac Hassan’s IEBC years ago with sketchy evidence.
This weekend I got real proof that the current IEBC is serving the devil.
