Lawyer Ahmednasir Raises Alarm Over Second Abduction of Somali Businessman Within a Month

Prominent city lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has raised concern over what he claims is a second abduction of a Somali businessman within a month.

Taking to his X account, the outspoken advocate condemned the incident, terming it a troubling pattern that contradicts earlier assurances made by President William Ruto during his campaign.

“This isn’t right. And it must stop,” Ahmednasir stated, directly calling out the Head of State and the country’s security agencies over the reported cases.

He reminded the public that President Ruto had pledged to end abductions and enforced disappearances allegedly linked to state agencies such as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the National Intelligence Service (NIS).

However, according to Ahmednasir, recent developments paint a different picture.

He claimed that in the past month alone, two individuals have reportedly been abducted, with one allegedly dumped in neighboring Somalia under unclear circumstances.

The senior counsel dismissed suggestions that such incidents could be the work of rogue officers acting independently.

Instead, he argued that enforced disappearances and extrajudicial actions point to a broader, systemic issue.

“When it comes to abductions and extrajudicial killings, the buck stops with the president and the security chain of command,” he asserted.
