A family in Ogero Village, Gem Constituency, Siaya County, has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of a Form Four student identified as Princess Vivian, who was due to sit her KCSE examinations at Dhene Secondary School.
Vivian was allegedly killed in a suspected love triangle involving her boyfriend, just two days before her final examinations.
According to preliminary accounts, Vivian was reportedly returning home from school on Friday when she encountered her boyfriend from Sakwa, who allegedly demanded that she surrender a mobile phone he had previously bought for her.
The disagreement was reportedly triggered by claims that Vivian had posted another man, identified as Mc Simba from Ramula, on Facebook.
The young man followed her to her home, where he attacked her with a sharp object, inflicting serious injuries to her neck and hand before leaving her on the veranda.
Her parents, who were reportedly away at the time, later returned home and were shocked to find their daughter lying in a pool of blood.
The tragic incident has left the family and the local community devastated, particularly because Vivian was just days away from completing her secondary school education.
