A 25-year-old Chinese national, identified as Li Xianpeng, a student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) main campus in Juja, has died after collapsing in his room on April 8.

Li, who was pursuing a degree in Agricultural Ecosystem, was found unresponsive in his residence.

Authorities reported that there were no external injuries or signs of violence on his body or inside the room.

An autopsy conducted at MP Shah Hospital concluded that the cause of death was cardiac arrest.

Detectives, together with a medical team, noted that medications recovered from the deceased’s residence were consistent with treatment for pre-existing cardiovascular conditions.

The deceased’s family is working closely with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to facilitate repatriation arrangements.
