A Jericho pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition belonging to Cyprian Kotut, the Deputy OCS of Marereni Police Station, was stolen from his house at the Krystalline Salt Company residential area in Magarini, Kilifi County.

According to reports, the officer stated that he had securely locked his house at around 11:00 am before leaving for Marereni Shopping Centre.

Upon returning at around 4:00 pm, he discovered that his house had been broken into and ransacked.

A search inside a suitcase where he had stored the firearm revealed that the pistol was missing.

Also stolen were a Samsung A12 mobile phone, an Oraimo power bank, and two Type-C chargers.

Acting Sub-County Police Commander, the DCIO Magarini, and the OCS Marereni visited the scene and established that entry was gained through a rear extension after an iron sheet wall was forcibly broken.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
