Drama unfolded today at the busy Lolgorian bodaboda stage near Ilkarian Primary School after a Kuria man from Kehancha was apprehended by riders for allegedly threatening boda boda riders with a toy gun.
The suspect, identified as Chacha Abbas, had parked at the stage without permission despite not being a registered member of the boda boda group.
When questioned by the riders, he reportedly pulled out what appeared to be a firearm and attempted to intimidate one of the members by pretending to shoot him.
The move angered the riders, who quickly sprang into action, overpowered the suspect, and pinned him to the ground, before escorting him to Lolgorian Police Station.
Police have since confirmed the weapon was a toy gun.
The suspect is currently being processed and is expected to be arraigned in court to face charges related to causing disturbance and intimidation.
The incident attracted a large crowd, with residents praising the bodaboda riders for acting swiftly and preventing possible chaos.
