A video has emerged of a Presbyterian Church of East Africa(PCEA) pastor mobilising church followers to raise Sh733 million to save Milele Beach Hotel, which is risking receivership over nonpayment of loans.
The hotel, which has not been helping over 4.8 million church followers, will soon be under the hammer if the church fails on its obligation of settling a loan of Sh733 million within three months.
For those who do not know, the Sh733 million loan was taken by PCEA top management and was misappropriated by buying guzzlers and apartments in Nairobi and its outskirts.

Instead of launching a campaign of spiritual nourishment, the pastor, who appears to be a beneficiary of the mass looting of church properties, is now asking poor members to raise Sh733 million to rescue the hotel, which has not helped the poor masses with even a meal for a single day.
The female pastor, who has been branded by Kenyans as a conwoman, was seen on the pulpit saying giving to Milele is giving to God, which is a clear blasphemy since God does not encourage looting and misappropriation of church properties. Kenyans on social media have condemned the move, calling it a conmanship scheme aimed at exploiting the faithful.
Many have questioned why the church leadership would take such a massive loan without proper accountability and then turn to the same members who have been suffering economically to bail them out.
Critics have also pointed out that the church has a moral obligation to be transparent with its finances and should not be using the pulpit to coerce members into funding what they term as reckless spending.
The church is yet to respond to the growing criticism, but the video has sparked a nationwide debate on the role of religious institutions in managing finances and the need for accountability among church leaders.
