Law enforcement officers in Kiminini Sub-County have arrested eleven individuals suspected to be members of the criminal gang known as Mbogi Yaadu, which has been linked to a series of insecurity incidents in the area.
The gang had, for some time, terrorised residents of Birunda, Kiungani, and neighbouring villages, disrupting the peace of the otherwise calm communities.
The arrests were made during a targeted security operation conducted by police officers as part of ongoing efforts to restore safety and order in the region.
During the crackdown, officers recovered several weapons believed to have been used by the gang to intimidate residents, including bows, arrows, machetes, and knives.
The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue and are expected to be arraigned at the Kitale Law Courts.
