Rodgers Kipembe, the son of Tigania East Member of Parliament Mpuru Aburi, was left embarrassed after attempting to drum up support for President William Ruto during a funeral ceremony in Meru County.
In the video, Kipembe, who has also declared interest in vying for an elective seat in the 2027 General Election, is seen addressing mourners and urging them to re-elect President Ruto.
However, the mourners heckled him, telling him that even his father would lose his seat in the next election.
“Ata baba yako anaenda nyumbani,” the locals are heard shouting as loud boos filled the air.
The video comes at a time when President William Ruto is facing growing political resistance in the Mt. Kenya region, which overwhelmingly voted for him in the 2022 General Election.
