Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has cautioned Kenyans against extreme political sycophancy following the death of gospel singer Rachel Wandeto.
Taking to his X account, Amisi urged Kenyans to avoid exposing themselves politically in a manner that could endanger their lives, warning that the country remains deeply divided along tribal and political lines.
“Just avoid exposing yourself politically. Be alert. Do not say and do what will upset the room,” Amisi wrote.
The outspoken MP lamented that many Kenyans are still trapped in what he termed “primitive tribal retrogressive politics,” where political intolerance continues to fuel hostility among citizens.
Amisi further warned that ordinary citizens often suffer the consequences of political battles while politicians eventually reconcile and move on with their lives.
“You do not need to lose your life because of political sycophancy. These guys will eventually meet after you have died and slaughtered each other and continue ruling the country as if nothing happened,” he stated.
The legislator concluded his message with a cryptic warning:
“Mwenye masikio asikiie. Mwenye upumbavu aendelee,” he added.
Rachel Wandeto reportedly died while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital after she was allegedly doused with petrol by unknown individuals.
She had previously come into the limelight after tattooing President William Ruto’s face on her body as a show of support for the Head of State.
