Suspected cattle thieves were forced to abandon a vehicle during a failed robbery mission after it reportedly developed mechanical problems midway through the operation.
According to reports, the suspects had been targeting livestock in the area, where cases of cattle theft have been on the rise in recent weeks.
The gang is said to have used an Isuzu D-Max pickup during the late-night operation.
However, their mission was cut short after the vehicle suddenly stalled and refused to start.
By the time the pickup developed mechanical problems, the suspects had already loaded three stolen cows into the vehicle.
Fearing they could be cornered by residents or police officers, the suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot, leaving behind the vehicle together with the stolen livestock.
Residents quickly gathered at the scene after learning about the incident, but police officers arrived shortly afterwards and secured the vehicle to prevent interference and allow investigations to commence.
Authorities are now pursuing the suspects as investigations into the attempted cattle theft continue.
