The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has released images of a key suspect believed to be linked to the murder of Reverend Julius Ndumia Ngari of PCEA Tabuga Church in Nakuru North Sub-County.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the DCI said detectives have made significant progress in investigations into the brutal murder, which occurred on the night of May 3, 2026.

According to the agency, the breakthrough followed extensive forensic analysis and intelligence-led investigations conducted jointly by officers from the Homicide Directorate, the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), the Operations Support Unit (OSU), and Nakuru County investigative teams.

The investigations led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Felix Odinga Okumu and Berryly Nafua Atenyo.

The DCI revealed that after completion of investigations involving the two suspects, the case file was forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) for review and legal advice.

The suspects were later arraigned before the Nakuru Law Courts, where they pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The case is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on June 17, 2026, before the hearing begins.

However, detectives say investigations are still ongoing and have appealed to members of the public to help identify another individual captured in images released by the agency.

According to the DCI, one of the images is the original photograph obtained during investigations, while the second is a digitally enhanced version generated to improve the visibility of the suspect’s identifiable features.

“Both images depict the same individual, who is considered a person of interest and is believed to possess information that could significantly advance the investigation and assist in identifying additional accomplices,” the DCI stated.

The agency further disclosed that detectives are pursuing additional leads and profiling other persons of interest connected to the murder.

The DCI reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all individuals involved in the killing are identified, arrested, and prosecuted.
