The man believed to be at the centre of the violence that rocked Ol Kalou during the by-election held on July 16th, 2026 has been identified, and the details emerging paint a troubling picture of how organised and state-linked the chaos truly was.
The individual has been identified as Karuma Muiruri, who is active on Facebook and hails from Githiga Ward in Githunguri Sub-County, Kiambu County. He is said to reside in Kirigiti, near Linkers Club, at Maranatha Apartments. According to sources, Muiruri served as the official bodyguard of MP Kawanjiku and is the person directly responsible for recruiting and coordinating the goons who were unleashed on Ol Kalou residents and Democracy for Citizens Party supporters during the by-election.
The violence that erupted during the poll was not spontaneous. It was organised, targeted and executed with the kind of precision that only comes from people who knew exactly what they were doing and who they were doing it for. Two people paid the ultimate price during the chaos, losing their lives in circumstances that demand full accountability from those who planned and funded the operation.
What makes the situation even more infuriating is that despite all this information being publicly available, including the name, ward, sub-county, county and residential address of the man accused of masterminding the goon recruitment, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations has not made a single arrest. Karuma Muiruri remains free, living comfortably in Kirigiti while the families of two dead Kenyans mourn and wait for justice that shows no sign of arriving.
Ruto knows. Murkomen knows. And yet the silence from both is deafening.
