Reports circulating online indicate that a Kenyan pilot is among those who died in a plane crash involving a Cessna 208 Caravan that was travelling from Yei to Juba, South Sudan.
According to reports, the aircraft allegedly crashed yesterday at Luri, near Juba, reportedly due to harsh weather conditions before erupting into flames upon impact.
The plane is said to have had 14 passengers on board, 12 South Sudanese nationals and 2 Kenyans.
It is claimed that all the occupants were burnt beyond recognition.
One of the Kenyan victims, identified as the pilot, has already been recognised and the family informed.
However, the identity of the second Kenyan passenger, named as Brian Mwenge, is yet to be officially confirmed.
Authorities in South Sudan have not yet issued a detailed official statement confirming the full list of victims or the cause of the crash.
