Two suspected drug traffickers have been arrested in Kilifi following a major anti-narcotics operation that led to the recovery of cannabis sativa worth approximately Sh4.2 million.
According to police, detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) in Kilifi conducted an intelligence-led raid at a house located in the Kisumu Ndogo area within Kilifi town.
During the operation, officers arrested two suspects identified as Eisha Mzungu Kalama and Jamal Chilumo Chiraga.
A search conducted inside the house led to the discovery of two and a half sacks of cannabis sativa weighing about 142 kilograms.
The drugs had reportedly been wrapped in brown khaki paper and were allegedly ready for distribution.
The suspects were taken to Kilifi Police Station alongside the recovered narcotics, where they are currently being processed pending their arraignment in court.
Police said the seized drugs will be kept as exhibits as investigations continue into the wider trafficking network linked to the suspects.
