I Was Promised A TSC Job By Ruto’s Man Aaron Cheruiyot, and I Paid Sh200,000; I Have All M-Pesa Transactions, Single Lady Claims

A young unemployed teacher has come forward with a damning account of how Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot allegedly took Sh200,000 from her in exchange for a promise to secure her a Teachers Service Commission(TSC) appointment, only to disappear with her money and leave her with nothing but M-Pesa transaction records and a broken dream.

The story fits a pattern that National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula himself inadvertently confirmed when he revealed that TSC appointment letters are being issued from State House rather than from the TSC, the independent constitutional body solely mandated to recruit and appoint teachers.

President William Ruto’s administration has been openly bypassing the Constitution, with the President personally handing TSC appointment letters to friendly MPs and senators who then distribute or, as this case suggests, sell them to desperate job seekers.

Instead of channelling those appointments to genuinely deserving and needy unemployed teachers, lawmakers have turned the process into a personal business, selling TSC slots at prices ranging from Sh200,000 to Sh400,000 per appointment. It is a grotesque betrayal of public trust in a country that aspires to match the development standards of Singapore, yet allows its leaders to auction government jobs to the highest bidder in broad daylight.

In a video that has since circulated widely, the young lady narrated in Kalenjin how she handed over Sh200,000 to Cheruiyot, one of Ruto’s closest allies and most loyal henchmen, after being assured that the money would secure her a teaching position. She says she has every M-Pesa transaction to back up her account, a paper trail that she is now willing to present as evidence of the fraud committed against her.

The money is gone. The job never came. And Aaron Cheruiyot has not been held accountable for a single shilling.

Here is the video of the young lady narrating how she was conned by Cheruiyot and left without employment or a refund.
