A Kenyan student living in Wraysbury, United Kingdom, has been reported missing under unclear circumstances, sparking concern among her family and human rights groups.

The student, identified as Edna Mmbali Ombakho, a 30-year-old master’s degree student, was last seen on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Wraysbury, Berkshire. Since then, she has not made any contact with her relatives, raising growing fears over her safety.

Human rights organisation HAKI Africa confirmed that it received an urgent distress call from Edna’s family, who are desperately seeking help in tracing her whereabouts more than a week after her disappearance.

According to the family, Edna is about 5 feet 5 inches tall, soft-spoken, and known for maintaining regular communication with her loved ones. Her sudden silence has therefore been described as extremely unusual.

Edna had travelled to the United Kingdom to further her education and was residing in Wraysbury at the time she went missing. Her family has since reported the matter to UK authorities, and police investigations are currently ongoing.

HAKI Africa has appealed to members of the public to assist with any information that could help locate her. The organisation emphasised that even the smallest detail could prove vital in reuniting Edna with her family.

“HAKI Africa has received a call from the family of Edna Mmbali Ombakho, who has been reported missing. We urge anyone who may have seen her or has information that could assist in locating her to come forward immediately,” the organisation said in a statement released on Saturday, February 7.

For those in Kenya who may have information, the family has provided contact numbers: Dr. George Ombakho can be reached on +254 722 779 307, while Jesse Ombakho is available on +254 741 762 057.

In the United Kingdom, members of the public have been urged to contact the police immediately by calling 999 and quoting Investigation Number: 43260053275.

As the search continues, Edna’s family remains hopeful for her safe return and is asking the public to share the appeal widely to increase the chances of finding her.
